What gets in the way
- The jargon. Importer of record, bond, power of attorney, entry.
- Not knowing what to send.
- Worry about getting it wrong.
How we help
We explain each term in a sentence or two, in the order you will meet it. Business Services sets up the power of attorney and, where needed, the bond. We tell you what is missing before the entry is filed, not after, file the entry when the documents are in order, watch for release, and send you the paperwork afterwards.
One-time shippers are welcome. You do not need a standing account to ask. The first-time importer checklist is a good place to start.
What to send us
- A description of the goods and the country of origin
- The commercial invoice and packing list
- Who the importer of record will be
- The carrier, the crossing and the date you expect to ship
- Any certificate or agency detail that applies, such as FDA or USMCA
This is general information for our clients and prospects. It is not a ruling. Talk to the brokerage team before you ship.
